Joseph Brant Hospital has served as the only acute care hospital in Burlington more than 50 years, providing care to communities in Halton and Hamilton including Burlington, Waterdown, Flamborough, Milton, Stoney Creek and east Hamilton.
The hospital provides exceptional health care, wellness and education to over 170,000 patients annually, operating 245 beds, staffed with over 175 physicians, 1400 full and part time employees, and 600 active volunteers. Joseph Brant Hospital has embarked on a new era of care, with a Redevelopment and Expansion Project underway. The first phase of construction has already begun on the Halton McMaster Family Health Centre (MHFHC) and a new parking facility. Coupled with our hospital’s recent designation as a Clinical Education Campus in conjunction with McMaster University, this is the important first step in the hospital’s plan to become a fully-affiliated teaching hospital across all medical disciplines. In Phase Two of the Redevelopment Project, there will be an addition of a six-storey tower, additional acute care beds, a new ICU, an expanded Cancer Care Clinic, new operating rooms and enhanced medical, surgical and outpatient services.
